Dear SaaStr: Should Both Founders Come to VC Pitches?

While the CEO must always attend every VC pitch, having the other co-founder present can create a powerful '1+1 > 2' effect, provided they are well-aligned and prepared.
Dear SaaStr: Should both founders be at investor pitches, or just one is one? Both own 50% BTW.
The CEO should always be at every VC pitch.
The other founder? It is nice to have them there, especially if she or he can answer certain questions (e.g., product, technology) with special authority.
1+1 definitely is more than 2 with a VC pitch if the +1 is part of the core value proposition — especially after the initial pitch.
I always brought my co-founder. And I made sure we practiced, and she always spoke to the slides and points she was strongest at … and I took the rest.
Talking over each other though, and not being aligned? Not a positive 🙂
